METALFinishes

ELECTROPOLISH:

Electropolishing is an electrochemical method of polishing which removes material in a controlled manner that deburrs edges and produces mirror like finishes. Electropolishing also passivates the surface of the metal being polished. Metals that HCS can electropolish are:
300 series stainless steel,
400 series stainless steel,
Hastalloy
17-4 ph stainless steel

PASSIVATION:

Passivation is a chemical treatment for stainless steel that removes any dirt or free iron from the surface of the material and forms a passive layer. Passivation enhances corrosion resistance of the base material. HCS can perform this process via immersion, spray, selective on site and flow thru passivation. Metals that HCS can passivate are 300 and 400 series stainless steels.

CYLINDRICAL GRINDING

Cylindrical grinding is a value added service which HCS provides. New parts can be ground to drawing specification before plating. Used or repair parts can be ground to clean up worn or damaged surfaces before plating. HCS can final grind these parts to finish tolerances. Surface finishes of 2-16 Ra can also be provided. Grinding capacity is up to a 20“ diameter and 10‘ length.

CYLINDRICAL POLISHING

Cylindrical Polishing allows HCS to achieve a high luster finishes before plating. This greatly enhances the surface finish of the part after plating. Post plate polishing to drawing specific surface finish requirements and mirror like finishes can be achieved.

HAND POLISHING

Hand polishing can be provided on many different substrates using cotton wheel polishers to custom polish parts prior to or after plating.

Rebuildand restoration

Hard chroming has proven to be an extremely useful and cost savings process for rebuilding worn or mis-manufactured parts and restoring original dimensions to worn surfaces found in machinery and equipment across a wide array of industries and applications. But merely specifying a "hard chrome finish" may not provide the results you are seeking.

It is critical you work closely with a world-class experienced electroplater to achieve optimum results for your application. Find out additional information on our specialize services.
